I woke up this morning and God challenged and comforted me with a number of things one of which I am compelled to share with you. The Lord used the words of Priscilla J. Owens in her hymn ‘We have an Anchor’ to remind me of the faith he has given me, allow me to bless you with part of this great Hymn.
Will your anchor hold in the storms of life,
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift and the cables strain,
Will your anchor drift, or firm remain?
We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Steadfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Savior’s love.
When our eyes behold through the gath’ring night
The city of gold, our harbor bright,
We shall anchor fast by the heav’nly shore,
With the storms all past forevermore.
Oh friend another great hymn comes to mind;
What a Friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Dear friend I know not what you are going through right now, you may not be a believer in the one who bowed the Heavens and came down in the form of man to lay down His life for you and I, you may be going through pain, emptiness and anguish, bitterness and sorrow, Friend I’d like you to look deep within yourself and reconsider your position in Christ.
You may be a believer in Jesus the Christ, but you at the moment you burdened and Heavy laden, I say to you, you have a priviledge of carrying all your burden and everything to God in Prayer.
‘We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,’ –Heb 6:19
‘Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.’ -John 15:13
So I ask again where is thy Faith? what are you afraid of? what is that mountain before you? Go on you can do it, just persevere!
